Knebworth Park racked up their seventh win of the Herts Cricket League season to maintain their Division Two B promotion bid.

The seven-wicket win away to Letchworth keeps them third in the table but closes the gap to West Herts in second to just 19 points.

After bowling the hosts out for 156, they then raced past the target in only 22.5 overs.

Knebworth's opening bowlers Gareth Jones and Charlie Randall made early inroads with Jones (3-33) labouring hard up the hill and into the wind while the ever-reliable pace of Randall (1-19) was too much for the batsmen at times.

Skipper Matt Hutchinson (1-17) mixed up the bowlers throughout to extract wickets while the father and son combo of Alex and Kobie Richmond (3-27 and 2-28) bowled with discipline.

Park's reply again set off fast and aggressive with opening pair Louis Champion (84) and Haydon Bartlett Tasker (31) putting loose bowling to the sword.

Champion posted the Letchworth attack to all areas of the ground supported well again by Haydon who then ran himself out and Josh Roseberry fell cheaply soon after.

Champion continued to attack but fell close to the end so it was left to Randall (3*) and Archie Stephens (17*) to close the innings in the 23rd over.

Datchworth were all out for just 46 as they lost by five wickets against Bishop's Stortford in Division Three A, although Kieran Atkinson did return with figures of 3-15.

Tewin meanwhile won by 45 runs in Division Three B against Reed.

They made 220-8 in their 50 overs, Josh Crutchett getting 63 and Ash Patel 44, and they then bowled Reed out for 175.

Jamie Bryce managed 3-24 with support from Tom Woods (2-13) and Will Pickworth (2-31).

Welwyn Garden City seconds remain top of that division after a 40-run win away to Wheathampstead.

Hatfield & Crusaders are up to fourth in Division Four A after a 39-run win over Watford Town.

That has also lifted them above neighbours Hatfield Hyde who lost by five wickets away to St Albans.

Chatula Bhagya Fonseka hit 46 but it was 26 not out from Hakeem Siddique and 21 for Ahmad Ahmadzai at nine and 10 that helped them up to 146.

Mohamed Miflan Mujreen took 2-35 in reply but the league leaders reached their target after 33 overs.

Bentley Heath meanwhile won by one wicket against Luton Town & Indians in Division Five A.

Sannan Mohammad took 4-43 as they bowled Luton out for 185 and there was 61 in reply from Anwar Khan.

It was Riyan Iqbal (13*) and Imran Ali (3*) though who got them over the line.
