Patchy wind was of little concern to Dave Lambert as he was the clear winner overall in Welwyn Garden City Sailing Club's latest round of races.

He took top honours in the fast fleet race, one that left many of his rivals stranded in windless areas.

Second was Mike Caddy with Ruth Barr and Ewelina Hoffman third in their double hander.

Annette Walter was first in the slow fleet and second overall.

Behind her Francis Hansen and commodore of the club, Charles Adams, were locked together for both races but despite the close finishes, it was the former who prevailed in each case.
