Garden City Runners were finally able to get back to serious cross-country running as the Sunday League returned.

The previous two rounds, at Royston and Stevenage, had both been cancelled but there was no problem with the Cassiobury Park course, which came in at just under six miles.

Results for that are still be finalised but many of those GCRs that took part were up and out one day earlier at parkruns.

The home run at Panshanger saw Thomas Buzzard fifth overall in 19 minutes 15 seconds while Helen Stafford was second lady and Rebecca Barden fourth.

James Huish was third overall at Leavesden Country, Andrew Holt fifth in Jersey Farm, Jamie Rose sixth at Northampton and Richard Somerset ninth in Walthamstow, two places ahead of team-mate John McDowall.

At Presint 18, Putrajaya, Lizzie Belcher was sixth lady all the way over Malaysia at the Presint 18 event and she wasn't the only one to head abroad, Sharon Threlfall travelling to Zuiderpark in the Netherlands.

Others who travelled good distances, albeit remaining in the UK, were Samantha Hastie (Springburn, Glasgow), Bernard Rockhill (Wetherby, North Yorkshire), Paul Cox (Herrington County, Sunderland) and a group including Alex and Dave Faulkner and Simon Betteridge at Southampton.
