THE Citizens will be looking for a new boss over the summer after the departure of Scott O’Donoghue following the final match of the season at the weekend.
WGC lost 4-1 to Amersham Town at Herns Lane on Saturday and finished the 2012/13 SSML Division One campaign in 13th position.
Following the game it was revealed that O’Donoghue had left the club after a season in charge.
A club statement read: “Welwyn Garden City FC regret to announce that player-manager Scott O’Donoghue has resigned his position with the club due to a combination of increased business pressures and because of family commitments.
“The club would like to place on record its appreciation of Scott’s efforts and dedication in his season in the post and wish him all good fortune in the future.
“The search for his successor will begin immediately.”
