A young girl was injured in a collision in Welwyn Garden City


A young girl is suspected to have broken her leg after a collision with a car in Welwyn Garden City.

The ambulance service were called at 8.41am today after a silver Renault Clio was involved in a collision with a young girl, who was a pedestrian.

The incident happened in Stanborough Road, Welwyn Garden City, by the 20th Mile Bridge.

A rapid response vehicle arrived at the scene in just over six minutes, followed by ambulance crews. The girl was treated at the scene for a suspected broken leg and was then taken to Lister Hospital for further treatment.

She suffered no other injuries and nobody else was injured in the collision. The road was partially blocked but was cleared by 9.50am.

Police urge anyone who witnessed the collision to contact Herts Police on 101, quoting reference 92 of February 1.
