A talented Cuffley singer of just 14 has won through to the semi-final of a national competition by performing in front of a sell-out West End audience.

Jaynie Awcock was chosen by professional judges after singing On My Own from Les Miserables at the Tristan Bates Theatre, Leicester Square earlier this month in the West End Calling contest.

She hopes she will be selected at the March semi-final for the final, which will be at the Ambassadors Theatre on April 11.

Judges told her: ” You gave a fantastic performance”, and: “You have great vocal control and a gorgeous tone to your voice.”

A publicist for the competition said: “Jaynie loves singing and Musical Theatre and it is her dream to perform in London’s West End, or on Broadway, when she is older.

“She isn’t sure yet which song she will pick for the semi-finals.”

As well as singing, Jaynie enjoys tennis and running, performing at county level at both.
