A YOUNG scientist from Codicote has died in Madagascar.

Nick Paige, 24, was killed in a what is thought to be a rock fall over the weekend.

He was working overseas for Blue Ventures and died in the fishing village of Andavadoaka over the weekend.

The Foreign Office said: “We can confirm the death of a British National in Andavadoaka, Madagascar. We are providing consular assistance to the family.”

Shocked friends have taken to Facebook to pay their respects with dozens of tributes left on his wall.

Lucinda Potter said: “I just can’t believe it. I found out this morning and it’s all I’ve been thinking about all day.

“Nick Paige, you are truly one of the best and most wonderful people I’ve had the privilege of knowing. You were taken far too soon but will never be forgotten.”
