X-FACTOR style elections are due to take place in Welwyn Hatfield.

Due to boundary lines changing every single council seat is up for grabs on May 1.

Usually only one third of councillors are vying for your votes in a four-year cycle making way for the general election approximately every fourth year.

But this year all 48 seats are up for election.

Leaving the WHT to ask, what will happen the following years?

A council spokeswoman confirmed that the councillor winning the most votes will serve the full four-year term.

The person receiving the next highest set of votes will only serve three years and the third-placed councillor will only serve two years, before facing the polls again.
