A BOMB, probably dropped from a plane during World War 2, was discovered in Brookmans Park at the weekend.

The 12-inch long incendiary device was found by a metal detector enthusiast near the Royal Veterinary College in Hawkshead Lane on Sunday.

He took the device to Potters Bar Police Station for safe keeping and today (Monday) it was detonated by the MoD in Parkfield, Potters Bar.
