Work has started on the new Côte Restaurant coming to Welwyn Garden City town centre.

The restaurant is coming to the unit previously occupied by The Pig and Truffle in Howardsgate, which closed last year.

The outside windows have been boarded up, scaffolding has been put up and workmen have been seen inside.

Côte Restaurants made the planning application on December 17 last year to install a new shopfront, awning and outdoor seating, with associated refuge storage.

The application was granted on Friday, April 1.

According to the restaurant chain’s website, “Côte is inspired by the brasseries of Paris, championing relaxed all-day dining and serving authentic French classics made from great quality, fresh ingredients”.

The new restaurant is currently advertising for jobs for waiters, chefs, an assistant general manager and a sous chef.
