MORE than £7,000 was raised at a cycle ride in Woolmer Green.

The cash was collected at the fundraiser, which saw more than 300 riders set off on 10, 25 and 50 mile routes.

And youngsters had their souped-up bikes judged in a Pimp My Bike competition by members of the women’s CTC elite team, who were special guests on the day.

Proceeds from the May 12 event will go to the Isabel Hospice.

Organiser Carol Newland said: “We were delighted with the number of people who rode, with around 340 participants cycling the 10, 25 and 50 mile routes.”

Cheryl Cusack Isabel Hospice Fundraising Co coordinator said “The sun shone, the cyclists had a good day. This is such a popular event and could not happen without the hard work and support of Carol, Roger and her wonderful team.”
