An injured man is involved in the incident which occurred at around 1.30pm.
An inner and outer cordon have been established around the scene and the woodland is currently out-of-bounds to the public.
A lay-by off Brocket Lane, near Lemsford is currently closed for emergency vehicles to gain access to the area.
Officers are working to identify the man, who is still at the scene.
