Police and an ambulance crew are on the scene of a crash in Welwyn Garden City

A woman in her 70s was injured in a crash in Welwyn Garden City this morning.

An ambulance service spokesman said: “The East of England Ambulance Service Trust was called to a road traffic collision on Blakemere Road in Welwyn Garden City at 9.09am today.

“An ambulance and a rapid response vehicle attended and treated a woman in her 70s with a suspected leg and hip injury.

“She was taken to Lister Hospital for further care.”
