A man broke a woman's arm in two places during a vicious attack in Hatfield.

Police today appealed for witnesses following the assault during the early hours of Sunday, November 13, in the car park of The Town Inn on Queensway.

A spokeswoman said: “On leaving the pub, the victim, a woman in her 50s, was approached by a man who spoke with an Irish accent.

“He pushed her to the ground, causing her to hit her head, before stamping on her left arm, causing it to break in two places.

“The victim required hospital treatment and her arm had to be placed in a cast.”

PC Mark Tyrrell said: “This was a particularly nasty attack and has left the victim with serious injuries.

“I would urge anyone who may have seen what happened leading up to or after the incident to please come forward and speak to me.”

Anyone with information can contact officers via 101.
