A YOUNG woman was trapped in her car after flying off a road and into a ditch this morning (Wednesday).

The teenage motorist’s purple Ford Fiesta crashed in Hawkshead Road, between Potters Bar and Brookmans Park, at 8.10am.

Emergency services were called to the scene and firefighters had to cut the driver out of her vehicle.

Paramedics then ferried her to hospital, although her injuries are not thought to be serious.

Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “A woman who we believe to be 17 years old has been taken to Barnet General Hospital with minor injuries after the car she was travelling in ended up in a ditch this morning.”
