An elderly woman was taken to hospital after a car drove into a funeral parlour in Hatfield, according to paramedics,

Police said initially that a man was taken to hospital after driving a Ford Fiesta into the window of JJ Burgess & Sons at about 2.30pm, but the East of England Ambulance Service has told the Welwyn Hatfield Times the patient was a woman in her 80s.

She was taken to Stevenage’s Lister Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
