A MAN and a woman have been taken to hospital following a car crash this afternoon. A Vauxhall Astra and a Mini Cooper were in collision on Bessemer Road, by the junction with Digswell Road, WGC, at 3.15pm today (Friday). Police and ambulance

A MAN and a woman have been taken to hospital following a car crash this afternoon.

A Vauxhall Astra and a Mini Cooper were in collision on Bessemer Road, by the junction with Digswell Road, WGC, at 3.15pm today (Friday).

Police and ambulance crews arrived at the scene and both drivers were taken to the QE2 Hospital.

The male driver of the Astra is in a serious condition and the female driver of the Mini Cooper is being treated for whiplash injuries.

The road has been closed.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.

A police spokeswoman said: “We are asking drivers to avoid the area.”
