A wheelchair-bound woman was attacked at a bus shelter in Welwyn Garden City.

Officers appealed for witnesses and information after the woman was assaulted at the corner of Beehive Lane and Howlands, at around 2.30pm on Wednesday, October 8.

Police said “an altercation” took place between a man and woman, during which the woman, who is aged in her 30s and in a wheelchair, was assaulted.

She suffered what were described as “slight injuries”.

PC Rebecca Spittle said: “I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to get in contact with me as soon as possible.”

• A 51-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and released on bail until November 6.
