Emergency services were called to Welwyn Garden City


A woman in her 70s died in Welwyn Garden City yesterday morning.

An ambulance service spokesman said: “The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) received a call at 7.40am yesterday to Stanborough Road, in Welwyn Garden City, to a report of a woman, believed to be in her 70s, who was not breathing.

“A rapid response vehicle, ambulance crew and ambulance officer were dispatched.

“Sadly, the patient died at the scene. Our thoughts go out to her family and friends.”

A police spokeswoman said officers were called to Premier Inn that morning, and confirmed the woman’s family were at the scene.

She added the incident is not being treated as suspicious, and the details have been forwarded onto the coroner.
