A BRUTAL assault on two people in Hatfield on Sunday has sparked a police appeal for witnesses.
One man was punched and a second man sustained a broken jaw during the attack at around 3.30am in the College Lane car park.
Both victims were kept in hospital overnight.
Detective constable Glen Turrell-Oldacre said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to come forward so we can piece together exactly what happened that night.”
Welwyn Hatfield chief inspector Dave Newsome added: “We have a zero tolerance to violence. This was a nasty incident, which has left two young men with serious injuries.
“We will do everything we can to make sure this unusual isolated incident is not repeated.
“Visitors to Hatfield should be there to enjoy themselves and anyone intent on causing problems will be arrested.” Anyone with information should call police on 0845 33 00 222.
? A 21-year-old man from Hatfield was arrested on suspicion of two counts of grievous bodily harm. He has been released on police bail.
