An eight-year-old girl from Hatfield won cinema tickets for her spooky tale.
Anisha Shala won first prize in the Halloween short story competition, which was held in White Lion Square on Saturday, October 29.
Her story is below:
‘Once upon a time not so long ago, there lived wicked, evil witch called Alexandra.
‘She was just stirring a poison and called Princess Diana: “I am coming your way”. “Excuse me”. “Bye”. The wicked witch started walking towards the house.
‘She called again, “I can see you”. “What, you can see me?” “Yes I can, where are you?”. She crept right next to her…. AAAAAHHHHH! Bang, the princess was never seen again.’
The runner-up was Amber Doron-Connon, four, from Hatfield, who won tickets to Campus West.
Deputy Mayor Lynne Sparks, who judged the competition, said: “There were some fantastic stories to choose from and it was great to see so many entries, but I really enjoyed reading Anisha’s in particular.
“I hope both Anisha and Amber enjoy their prizes.”
