CHART-TOPPER Ed Sheeran is coming to Hatfield this weekend – and you could be in the audience to watch the singer-songwriter’s sell-out performance.
The A Team star will be appearing at the Forum Hertfordshire, in College Lane, on Saturday.
The gig sold out months ago but you could win tickets to the show thanks to the Welwyn Hatfield Times and the Forum – and there’s a stack of other Ed Sheeran goodies up for grabs as well.
If you haven’t heard of Ed Sheeran yet then where have you been hiding for the past few months?
Aside from his huge debut single The A Team being all over TV and radio since June, it’s been hard to avoid Ed’s fiery red curls popping up on viral YouTube videos of him freestyling about his apparent deep love of Nandos and such like, with his new A-list mates like Example.
Ed’s eagerly-anticipated major label debut album, +, came out last month on Asylum/Atlantic Records and knocked Example’s Playing in the Shadows off the top of the UK charts.
Fresh from festivals this summer, including Glastonbury, Latitude and Bestival, the Suffolk-based ginger-haired acoustic strummer is picking up new friends and critical acclaim wherever he goes of late.
However, he’s no overnight success. Before signing to Asylum Records, part of Atlantic Records, in early 2011, Ed had already self-released five EPs, selling tens of thousands of copies out of his backpack at gigs, his website and digital stores.
His No.5 Collaborations EP, featuring hip-hop and grime favourites Devlin, Wretch 32 and Wiley to name a few, peaked at number two in the iTunes chart within 24 hours of its release and was only outsold by Rihanna.
The Welwyn Hatfield Times has teamed up with the University of Hertfordshire’s Forum venue to offer a pair of tickets to see Ed Sheeran in Hatfield on October 8.
The winner will also pick up a copy of Ed’s number one album + for free, plus badges and a poster, all courtesy of Atlantic Records.
Nine runners-up will receive a copy of the album, a promotional poster and badges.
