Organisers behind the annual Willow 10k event at Hatfield House are expecting the biggest-ever turnout this year.

The Willow Foundation, which dedicates itself to helping ill young adults aged between 16 and 40, will be holding its sixth 10k on Sunday, October 5.

Charity founder and former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson, said: “This will be our sixth Willow 10K and each year gets better and better. I am delighted that we have already reached 777 entrants.

“It would be great to get to our target of one thousand.”

The charity was founded by Mr Wilson and his wife Megs after the loss of their daughter Anna to cancer at the age of 31.

The Willow 10k events have so far raised more than £200,000 for the Old Hatfield-based charity.
