What does future hold for Welwyn Garden City?

Welwyn Garden City businesses are being surveyed to help shape a business plan for the town’s future.
The Welwyn Garden City Business Improvement District (BID) is running a series of workshops where local businesses can meet each other and discuss their ideas.
The aim is to decide on improvements to the town centre, identify priorities for the future and ensure that businesses decide on projects that will improve trade in a fair and equitable way.
Once the plan is agreed, it will be taken to a vote in October or November this year.
The workshops will be held on Wednesday, April 6, starting with one from 8am to 9.30am in the WGC BID Office, in John Lewis.
This will be followed by a workshop at The Two Willows, at 9, Howardsgate, WGC, from 12.30pm to 2pm, and another in the BID Office from 5.30pm to 7pm.
The BID process is being managed by the Welwyn Garden City Town Centre Partnership (TCP), which is a board of representatives from town centre businesses, both large and small. It is currently chaired by the Head of Branch at John Lewis.
