There are three candidates in Welwyn West – read below to find out who they are and what they stand for.

This seat is currently held by the Conservative Party.

Liberal Democrat – Jon Arch, of Brockswood Lane, WGC

Jon Arch moved to WGC in 1993 as an employee of SmithKline Beecham and later GlaxoSmithKline.

In 2001 he moved to the University of Buckingham, continuing to research obesity and diabetes.

Believing in justice, fairness and liberty for every individual makes him instinctively a Liberal Democrat.

At a local level, he is especially interested in environmental initiatives that promote a healthy lifestyle.

Labour – Ben Yetts, of Blythway, WGC

I am proudly standing to represent the people of Welwyn West.

It would be an honour to carry the voice of this area’s residents into the council and provide a credible and determined alternative to the Conservatives in difficult, dogged times.

I’m standing up for every local person with an opinion to be heard.

I’m standing against the arrogance and the ignorance of the Conservative council.

It is with deference and diligence that I call upon Welwyn’s residents to share their views with me as I request to represent Welwyn West.

Conservative – Mandy Perkins*, of Canons Field, Welwyn

My pledges for Welwyn West:

? I will always be accessible to you, and will make sure that your voice is heard by the council

? I will act as an advocate between you and the council if you have a problem

? I will do everything I can to retain the wonderful character of Welwyn and the Ayots
