TWO teenagers have travelled to the capital as representatives of Times Territory for a national convention for young people.
Jordan Keighley, 15, and Laura Heasman, 17, both members of the Welwyn Hatfield Youth Council, met fellow youth councillors from across the country at a meeting of the British Youth Council in London.
The convention featured workshops on recruitment and campaigning, plus a debate on the Young People's Manifesto, which will be used to lobby Parliament before the next general election.
Jordan said: "Laura and I found the sessions we took part in really useful. We learned a lot about campaigning and recruitment, which will help us increase the Youth Council's profile at local events and gain some new members.
"It was also very good to chat to other youth councillors from around the country and find out what they do, and swap ideas."
Welwyn Hatfield Youth Council will soon be recruiting new members, as several young people head for university.
