A private Welwyn Hatfield school has admitted breaking health and safety rules in an accident that left a pupil very seriously injured.

Queenswood School pleaded guilty at St Albans Crown Court last week in a prosecution brought by the Health and Safety Executive over a fall from playground equipment in 2011.

However, the school near Brookmans Park does not accept the prosecution’s full case, and rival expert witnesses will give evidence in court on December 21.

The teenage victim, who can not be named for legal reasons, is now living with her parents overseas.
