THREE of Times Territory's most public-spirited residents were honoured at Welwyn Hatfield Council's annual meeting. The Civic Awards, sponsored by Serco, is in its third year, and acknowledges community work undertaken by members of the public.
THREE of Times Territory's most public-spirited residents were honoured at Welwyn Hatfield Council's annual meeting.
The Civic Awards, sponsored by Serco, is in its third year, and acknowledges community work undertaken by members of the public.
Brian Wilson, Sean Cox and Hywel Morris were selected from a list of 18 nominees; Mr Wilson for his work with the Welwyn Hatfield Access Group, Mr Cox as leader of The Mixed Group and Mr Morris, for his "outstanding environmental contribution" to his village.
They each received a trophy, certificate and cheque for �250.
Outgoing mayor Mick Long, who presented the awards, said: "It was a real privilege to be able to recognise people who have done so much for the community.
"The range of achievements and work that takes place in the borough is truly astonishing."
