Welwyn Hatfield residents are being encouraged to attend the latest Safer Together event ahead of the Christmas period.

Taking place on Thursday, December 7, the event aims to give residents advice on personal and financial safety, wellbeing and crime prevention.

It has been organised by The Community Safety Partnership and will run from 2pm to 4pm at Gracemead House, Woods Avenue, Hatfield.

Council, fire and police officers will be giving out safety advice, along with Trading Standards, victim support, Hertfordshire Libraries, Citizens Advice, and Affinity Water.

New in Hatfield for this year is The Creation Station’s free keepsake workshop, where children can create arts and crafts to take away with them.

Councillor Roger Trigg, executive member for community safety, said: “As the weather gets colder and the nights get longer, there can be an increase in the risks posed to our health and wellbeing.

“So I would encourage residents to pop into the event to get some advice on how best to stay safe and well this winter.”

For more information about the event, people can call 01707 357 524 or email feelsafe@welhat.gov.uk.
