RESIDENTS will get a chance to grill top police officers tonight (Thursday), when the Hertfordshire Police Authority launches it’s annual Welwyn Hatfield Policing Plan in WGC.

Welwyn Hatfield chief inspector Dave Newsome and councillor Clare Berry, the Police Authority lead member for the borough, will be among those giving talks on how the police performed last year and what residents can expect in the future.

People will be able to find out what the Welwyn Hatfield Community Safety Partnership is planning over the coming year, and there will be a progress report from Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service on its Community Safety Plan, which was launched last year.

Cllr Berry said: “By launching the plan locally, we hope that members of the public will join us to ask any questions they may have about its content, speak to police and other community safety representatives, and suggest targets for future plans.”

The meeting will be held in the Council Chamber, at Campus West, WGC, from 7pm to 9pm. Refreshments will be available from 6.30pm. All are welcome.
