Welwyn Hatfield MP Grant Shapps has lost his post as chairman of the Conservative Party, and been moved to a junior minister role.

Mr Shapps, who was last week re-elected to represent the constituency, is now minister of state at the Department for International Development.

He will report to Justine Greening, who retained her job as Secretary of State for International Development in Prime Minister David Cameron’s reshuffle today.

Lord Feldman was promoted to the post of party chairman with a seat in the political cabinet.
