The Welwyn Hatfield Labour party have revealed its candidate for a by election following the death of councillor Mandy Perkins.

Conservative, Labour and the Liberal Democrats have all put someone forward for the Welwyn Hatfield Council by election for Welwyn West, due to take place on Thursday, November 29.

For Labour, Josh Chigwangwa, has stepped forward to “put the needs of residents first”.

He said: “Although these are unfortunate circumstances, it’s a privilege to stand again.

“During the last election I heard first hand about the issues that mattered to residents, including antisocial behaviour, waste collection and recycling, and the condition of community spaces.

“I’ll work with the rest of the Labour group to put these issues at the top of the agenda.”
