Two of Welwyn Hatfield's county councillors have chosen to allocate some of their locality budgets.
Cllr Barbara Gibson, who represents Haldens, has dedicated £250 to the Welwyn Garden City Music Society for a children’s concert.
She said: “Especially at a time when many schools are facing budget cuts that are impacting music and art, it is so important that children have opportunities to be exposed to and interact with music.
“I am pleased to be able to support this community event.”
Councillor Paul Zukowskyj, of Hatfield South, has allocated £450 to De Havilland Primary School to make the subway outside of school usable.
Hertfordshire County Council’s locality budget scheme involves councillors having £10,000 a year each to spend on worthwhile projects in their area.
