Welwyn Hatfield Council is advertising for a ‘garden waste services officer’.

The advert comes as a decision was made this month to start charging for the collection of garden waste.

The new position will be full time with a salary of up to nearly £25,000.

The council states: “Reporting to the Community and Environment Services Manager, you will be predominantly responsible for the day-to-day administration and running of the new garden waste service.

“Duties will include managing the financial aspects of the service, data administration and contract management.

“This is an opportunity to be part of a community focused service team and assist the Council in its corporate aims in providing a green and clean environment.

“You will also act as the main contact for residents, stakeholders, contractors and other Council led departments.”

The closing date for applicants is January 29 and the anticipated start date if March.
