A Welwyn Hatfield-based charity’s supporters raised £1,611 while tackling its annual cycle rally.
Starting at Autumn Grove in WGC, 20 fundraisers completed a 10-mile loop to and from Hertford Football Club in aid of The Mixed Group, which provides Christmas Day meals for lonely and elderly residents.
Among those conquering the challenge was a three-year-old, riding on the back of their dad’s bike, as well as several other youngsters aged six, seven, eight and 11.
Also participating was Welwyn Hatfield MP Grant Shapps, whose tyre thankfully did not burst seconds after starting – unlike during last year’s event.
The cyclists scoffed some well-earned burgers and hotdogs upon their return.
Charity founder Sean Cox told the WHT: “We are absolutely delighted with raising £1,611, which will all go towards helping those who need it most around Christmas time.”
