TWO Welwyn Hatfield athletes have progressed in their events at the IAAF World Youth Championships currently being held in Italy.
WGC sprinter Jodie Williams, 15, and her Herts Phoenix team-mate Nathan Wake have both had successful first days at the top class competition.
Queenswood School pupil Williams, who trains at Gosling Sports Park, comfortably won both her opening 100m heat and quarter-final to book her place in tomorrow's (Thursday) semi-final.
Elsewhere on the track 400m runner Wake finished second in his heat and will race in the semi-final tomorrow (Thursday).
