An employee from Tesco’s Welwyn Garden City head office will feature on a Mothers’ Day card to raise money for a cancer charity.

Francesca Ashcroft ran five races last year, raising £1,000 for Cancer Research UK, and will have her personal story and photograph featured on a card designed by Hallmark.

She said: “I’ve lost far too many friends and family over the last few years due to cancer. In that same time period, I’ve also watched a handful of my closest friends lose their parents far too soon.”

The card will be sold at Tesco stores across the UK, and Francesca will be presented with a framed version of her card to mark the occasion.

Cancer Research UK’s head of events marketing Sarah Pickersgill said: “We are very grateful to Francesca and Tesco for their support. By following Francesca’s lead, and joining the Race for Life, everyone can make a real difference to people with cancer, right now.”
