A Welwyn Garden City woman has been banned from two shops for a year after stealing cleaning products and chocolate.

Kerrie Rowlands, 34, has been given a community order banning her from Mini Mart in Cole Green Lane, Welwyn Garden City, and Savers in Hatfield Town Centre.

Rowlands appeared at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on November 28 where she admitted three charges of theft.

On September 2, she stole Fairy Liquid and Vanish from Mini Mart worth £41.96.

Later in the month, on September 17, she stole chocolate and confectionary from the shop worth £9.

On November 20, she stole two Calvin Klein fragrance sprays and a Maybelline mascara from Savers worth £55.96.

Rowlands, of Leigh Common, was ordered to pay compensation to cover the costs of the stolen goods.

She must also pay victim services £85 and £85 court costs.

Deductions will be made to her benefits.

As part of her community order, she has been banned from both shops for a year.
