Welwyn Garden City trio take on epic cycle challenge for charity

A TRIO from WGC also completed the London to Brighton challenge in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

Darron Lee, 41, Kristine Pratt, 27, and her uncle Robert Pratt, 53, pedalled the 54-mile route, which started at Clapham Common at 8.30am on June 20.

Rita Pratt, sister of Robert, from Meadway, and aunt of Kristine, from Howlands, told the Welwyn Hatfield Times how proud she was of them.

She said: “Kristine finished in eight-and-a-half hours and Darron [of St Audrey’s Green] and Robert completed the challenge in a respectable 10 hours, with lots of hold ups along the way and very steep hills to ride up.

“All the family are very proud of them and they raised a lot of money – around 500 – for the British Heart Foundation.”
