A TRAVEL agent is celebrating the launch of its first ever package holiday brochure, just weeks after taking over an office in WGC.
Holidaymakers can now book their summer travels for next year by popping into Co-Operative Travel, in the town centre, which is one of 550 outlets across the country offering its own package holidays for the first time.
Only last month, the Co-Operative Group took over the travel agents in Fretherne Road, after previous owners Andes Travel sold the branch after 36 years in WGC.
Despite several large travel companies cutting back operations through the recession, the company believes the timing is perfect.
Travel consultant Jenifer Greenslade said: "It's a much bigger company to work for, and business has improved since we became Co-Op.
"Some people may think it's strange to open a tour operator in this difficult financial climate, but actually the timing couldn't be better.
"We offer redundancy cover, which means you will get your money back if you are unfortunate enough to lose you job.
"So you can book your holiday and know you're financially safe."
