Man stabbed in Welwyn Garden City

Police are investigating after a man in his twenties was stabbed in a residential street in Welwyn Garden City at the weekend.

A police spokeswoman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “Police received a call at 6.16pm on Saturday, October 6, to reports of a man in his twenties who had sustained stab wounds in Shortlands Green, Welwyn Garden City.”

She continued: “Two offenders are believed to have made off in the direction of the alleyway in Bernard Green and extensive enquiries are being carried out to trace them.

“The man’s injuries are not thought to be serious at this time.

“One of the offenders is described as a white male wearing black joggers with white stripes, a black hooded top (with white stripes on the left arm) and a bag across his shoulder.

“The second offender is described as a black male, wearing a grey/green jacket, black joggers and a rucksack. Those involved are believed to be known to each other.”

•Anyone who saw what happened, or has information that can assist with officers’ enquiries, should contact Hertfordshire Constabulary on the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 621 of October 6.
