A SOLDIER has taken part in this year's trooping of the colour, celebrating the Queen's official birthday.
Trooper Jon Clayson, who grew up in WGC, took part in the parade which saw the 1st Battalion Irish Guards' colour trooped in Horse Guards Parade, London.
Jon, a life guard in the Household Cavalry, only passed out in April.
Sister Vicki, of Walden Place, WGC, watched the parade at home on Saturday, she said: "I was really pleased for him. He was really excited he had been chosen.
