WGC speed sensation Jodie Williams has become the first female athlete to ever achieve the 100m and 200m sprint double at IAAF World Youth Championships.
After securing the 100m title on Thursday, the 15-year-old added the 200m gold to her medal collection yesterday (Sunday) at the competition in Bressanone, Italy.
Williams ran a time of 23.08 seconds in the 200m final, which she won after a photo finish.
Following a two minute wait the Queenswood pupil was given the decision ahead of silver medallist Allison Peter of the Virgin Islands.
After securing her second gold medal of the event, Williams said: "It's the first time I've raced athletes from another country, it's the biggest competition I've ever been to. It's amazing."
