THE future of hundreds of trees at a WGC beauty spot has been discussed at a meeting today (Thursday).
Three options on what to do with the remaining 428 Lombardy poplar trees in the north car park at Stanborough Park were scrutinised by the Task and Finish Working Group at Welwyn Hatfield Council.
Option one, to inspect trees annually, was dismissed, leaving option two, to fell trees in three blocks and replant with a mixture of trees, and option three, to fell all trees in one go, as possible choices.
The issue, as well as landscaping options for the south car park, will be discussed in more detail at a meeting of the Task and Finish Group tomorrow.
