Vandals have damaged play equipment at a park in Welwyn Garden City.

The climbing element of a multi-play unit at Stanborough Park was found vandalised on Saturday.

GLL, which manages the area, confirmed the damage had not been reported to police.

A GLL spokesman said: “The rest of the play park is open.

“We regret the actions of vandals may have impacted park users.

“The police have not been notified.

“Following discovery of vandalism to a multi-play area on February 23, a Stanborough Park ranger taped up the equipment to take it out of public use.

“The area was checked again on Sunday and today (Monday 25 February) and re-taped to ensure it remained out of use pending a repair. “Maintenance personnel have been contacted to inspect the site and quote for rectifying the damage.

“We will continue to check the site daily to ensure it remains safe for all visitors until the remedial works have been carried out.”
