TWO women have been found guilty of child cruelty at St Albans Crown Court today (Friday).
Rebecca Robins, 21, from the High Street, Codicote, and Lisa Wymer, from Arundel Drive Borehamwood, 22, were arrested following reports of child cruelty against a two-year-old boy which took place at a nursery in Welwyn Garden City on December 17, 2009.
Detective Constable Andy Moody of the child abuse investigation unit, said: “The defendants denied causing any distress to the two-year-old since the incident was first reported to police, to the extent of putting the little boy’s parents through the ordeal of a trial at court.”
The case has been adjourned for sentencing until October 22.
