A crackdown on nuisance drivers in Welwyn Garden City is bearing fruit.

A group of drivers were “dispersed” on Saturday night after they were caught speeding near Heronswood and Salisbury Roads.

The driver of a Fiesta was also stopped and given a warning about the condition of the vehicle.

On Friday night, police were active in Howlands, Hollybush, Holwell Road and Peartree.

Officers were on the scene until 2am.

Two drivers were stopped for poor driving - one in Holwell Road and one in the town centre.

Both were issued with seizure notices.

A police spokesman said the operation against rogue drivers was “gathering momentum”.
