A FATHER-TO-BE has bagged himself a new car thanks to a shopping centre’s competition.

Wayne Langton was one of 40,000 people who had put their name in the hat at the Galleria in Hatfield to drive away a new Honda CRZ.

The 29-year-old from Chambers Grove, WGC, told the WHT: “I found out my missus was pregnant, so I took her for dinner at the Galleria; afterwards we decided to walk around the shops.

“We saw the competition and it was free to enter, the missus made me stop.”

The “missus” – Elizabeth Hills – who is due to give birth to the couple’s first child in March, may well have been responsible for Wayne’s win, and joined him at the Galleria for the keys to be handed over.

Electrician Wayne said: “I couldn’t really believe it.

“It couldn’t have come at a better time, we are so lucky.”

Galleria centre director Tim Stirling said: “This has been the most successful competition ever held at the Galleria and has generated real excitement among all our customers.

“Congratulations to Wayne, our worthy winner, we wish him many years of happy motoring.”
