A Welwyn Garden City YouTuber who has been recording unexplained phenomena for over 30 years has claimed to have captured “ghost-like” creatures on camera.
Knightsfield resident Stephen Clementson, 66, who has tracked supernatural beings for decades – bizarrely made his latest discovery while accidentally filming the floor.
In dozens of videos, viewers can see a “ghost rod” making its way across dark backgrounds, which are only visible when the recording is slowed right down.
“The thing I’m looking at you don’t even notice,” Stephen told the WHT. “If you see an insect you take no notice at normal speeds, but when you take a closer look at it there is something wrong with it, these things act like ghosts.”
Asked what he would say to cynics who might say it is merely an insect, he said that his equipment clearly picks out bugs, but these creatures are different.
“They do reflect some light but they are not solid, physical objects, you can see through them,” he added.
Stephen, who worked in electronics before taking early retirement and becoming a carer for his wife, said the pair have been haunted for decades at homes in Guessens Road, Kingscroft and Knightsfield.
He said their supernatural experiences ranged from encountering poltergeists to electronic disturbances and bells working with no batteries.
“On one occasion we had a dog kicked down the stairs,” Stephen added. “We literally heard a ‘swish’ and this dog came rolling down the stairs, he looked up confused.”
Among hundreds of his YouTube videos are also recordings of apparent UFOs in WGC.
Stephen added: “I’m approaching this stuff as objectively as I can, I try to steer clear of the woo-woo brigade who are mystically-inclined.
“I’m simply using YouTube as a vehicle to publish it because it would be useless to keep it to myself.
“I do not know what it is, but here it is.”
The 61-year-old said his claims are sometimes met with derision, but added that is understandable.
“If you have never seen anything like this before you are likely to be quite sceptical and dismissive,” Stephen said, “but if you have you are more likely to take it in.”
