A 28-year-old man from Welwyn Garden City has been arrested on suspicion of theft from a vehicle.

Following his arrest on February 11, he was released on bail to return to Hatfield police station on March 19.

Police investigations are ongoing and motorists are being urged to ensure their vehicles are secure when leaving them and to remove all valuables, including loose change, sunglasses and CDs.

Van owners are being encouraged to remove their tools at night and to consider fitting additional locking devices and alarms.

Safer Neighbourhood Sergeant for Welwyn Garden City Stephen Hynes said: “We are asking people to remain vigilant, support their neighbours and report suspicious activity to police, dialling 999 if it is a crime in progress.”
